Warehouse Team Lead
Full-time, Permanent
Glencoe, Ontario
Reports to:
Warehouse Supervisor
The Company:
At Ontario Plants Propagation Limited, our vision is to be Eastern North America's premier supplier of
greenhouse vegetable transplants. To help us accomplish this goal, we need to hire motivated,
passionate people to support our workforce and facilities. We are looking for a Warehouse Team
Lead who will work as part of the warehouse team to ensure the product is prepared for shipping
and is loaded on time. Additional duties include disinfecting shipping trays and carts, supporting the
warehouse supervisor, receiving and delivering greenhouse supplies.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
• Coordinate, assign, and supervise a team of warehouse laborers to achieve planning rates
and production goals
• Organize workflow based on established company methods and practices, and ensure that
team members understand their duties or tasks
• Monitor productivity, efficiency, and performance of laborers and provide constructive
feedback
• Monitor and enforce safety, quality control, and bio-security procedures
• Make decisions, handle complaints, and resolve problems
• Coordinate work activities with supervisors, team leads, staff, and departments
• Maintain control over documentation related to the task under their responsibility (shipping,
time trackers, etc.)
• Supervise and assist with maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure
• Supervise and assist with operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
• Loading and unloading tractor trailers
• Help maintain trucks/warehouse hygiene by following accepted heath and safety policies and
procedures
• Receive and store supplies/inventory – general warehouse organization
• Deliver greenhouse supplies to the greenhouse for shipping
• Return loaded carts to the warehouse & wrapping for shipping
• Assist with building/adjusting carts for shipping
• Provide support to the greenhouse when necessary
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English an asset
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent Spanish
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting and maintain
endurance over extended periods
• Forklift license is an asset
• Ability to operate sky jack & tractor an asset
• 6 months of working experience leading individuals or working in an agricultural/ Warehouse
setting
• Must have reliable transportation
Physical Location/Working Conditions:
• Greenhouse environment in a rural area, own transportation required;
• Repetitive tasks, a combination of standing, bending, walking, crouching
• 35 – 55 hours per week, shifts may vary between day and evening
• Able to work long hours including Saturdays, Sunday, and holidays when required
