Logistics Engineering Application & Development Support (LEADS)

Position Description:

• Member of the Operations Group within the Logistics Engineering (LE) department, with responsibility to assist in the creation and maintenance of databases and XML/SGML conversion tools in support of all programs
• Provide application support for XML and SGML authoring environments including Arbortext Editor and Styler and the integration with our Documentum Content Management System (CMS)
• Perform the duties & functions required to maintain integrity and availability of the Documentum CMS as follows:
• Develop and maintain workflows and lifecycles
• Administration of security by managing user accounts, user groups and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• Troubleshoot problems with respect to connectivity and documents
• Interface with the IT Support Group as required to resolve issues
• Develop automated data checks and status reports as required
• Provide advice to enable future improvement
• Develop MS Access databases and MS Excel/MS Word utilities to analyze data, generate reports, present data, and deliverables to our Customers
• Support training for departmental procedures and supporting utilities and tools

Position Requirements:

• University Degree or College Diploma
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML)
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with relational databases from a development and support perspective
• Highly effective planning, analytical and negotiation skills
• Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
• Ability to assess project requirements and deliver IT solutions that aid LE's goal to continuously improve
• Demonstrated strength in MS Office applications
• Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Intl) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport

Preferred Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years Logistics Engineering or related experience
• Understanding of Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) configurations
• Understanding and experience in logistics analysis
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
• Information Technology, Project Management, or Business Analyst experience
