Extraction Operations Supervisor

Introduction

The Extraction Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the team of process technicians through the supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, decarboxylation and milling processes. This role will optimize day-to-day operation of sophisticated equipment while working closely with QA to ensure compliance with stringent regulations.

Position

• Operate supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, decarboxylation and milling processes as per SOPs
• Provide strong leadership of extraction operations team
• Assist with developing and executing on technician training protocols
• Optimize and troubleshoot operations to maximize efficiency, quality and yield while ensuring safety and reliability
• Provide production reports and identify areas of improvement   
• Assist in development and maintenance of all extraction, decarboxylation and milling SOPs
• Ensure maintenance and calibration of all equipment is completed as per defined schedule
• Work closely with QA to ensure 100% compliance with QA requirements

Required Skills

• Minimum post-secondary education required in chemical engineering, chemistry, engineering technology or related science
• Minimum 5 year laboratory and/or production experience in pharmaceuticals, food, botanical extraction or related industry
• Management or team lead experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate sophisticated, high pressure extraction equipment. Experience operating botanical or supercritical carbon dioxide extraction processes is preferred.

• Experience within Cannabis industry is preferred
• Individuals with a Health Canada security clearance will be given preference
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Required to pass a criminal background check 
• Must be able to work various shift schedules as required
• Daily travel to facility in Aylmer, Ontario required (valid Driver's License)
