Bosco and Roxy’s is a premium, specialty dog treat manufacturer based in London, Ontario and shipping worldwide. Our products are new and innovative and fast becoming a must have in every treat jar. Bosco and Roxy’s frequently launches new hand-decorated cookie treats and the response has been fantastic! We launch a new collection for every holiday, and update year round.

Our new bakery is located at 2345 Discovery Drive in London. Position is an in-office full time position.

Summary:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager and SQF Practitioner ensures that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. This individual is responsible for managing the organization's quality assurance policies. This position will establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls to meet business requirements. All things related to QMS, SQF, Documentation and Traceability Experienced in overall Quality System Standards and Control in QMS, Customer, Operations, Supply Chain and Inspection practices. Certified ASQ Quality Auditor preferred.

Job Duties
• Responsible for GMP, HACCP & SQF Quality Systems, consistent with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliance.
• Performs as a HACCP coordinator to ensure HACCP program and pre-requisite programs are up-to-date and fully implemented in production.
• Creates training materials to support Food Safety/HACCP/SQF/CCP’s/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/Sanitation programs at all levels of the company and in collaboration with HR, ensures 100% completion of routine employee training on quality, regulatory, personal hygiene and food safety principles and policies
• Responsible for maintaining and updating the company’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) system, which includes record keeping, document control, verification, validation and internal audits
• Maintains Recall, Traceability, FIFO, Sanitation, Food Safety, etc. programs.
• Maintain the Quality Control Documentation in accordance with requirements and ensure all QC checks on production floor are being completed as required
• Ensure internal audit schedule is completed in compliance with policies including creating internal audit schedule and providing training on internal auditors
• Initiates and reviews internal/external testing results for the raw material, finished products, etc.
• Coordinate and monitor all incoming, in-process and final inspections, testing and documentation
• Supports the maintenance of Supplier Programs and the approval of new and existing suppliers.
• Creates/tests for ingredient decks, GA, calorie content, etc. for all new products and updates yearly for all existing/ongoing products
• Assists the sales team in ensuring all customer required forms, web forms, portals, etc. are filled in properly and kept up to date with all product data
• Develop policies and procedures as required
• Act as liaison with customer auditors and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with customer specifications.
• Ensure products meet customer expectations and demand
• State registration requirements
• Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
• Manage QA/Food Science Team (currently potential of 1 direct report)
• Special projects and other tasks as requested.

Qualifications
• Post secondary education in Food Science, Food Safety/Quality Assurance or Engineering
• 5+ years inspection experience, with a minimum of 5 years Quality Supervisory experience
• Proven Quality, Safety and Execution experience working all phases of a product life cycle.
• Working knowledge and experience in Safe Quality Food (SQF) standard
• Internal Auditor Certification
• HAACP Level 2 Certification
• QA/QC experience in a high-volume food manufacturing setting
• Excellent at multitasking with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Working knowledge of Continuous improvement and the use of process improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean and Six-Sigma tools)
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Drive.
