Your daily role
How can you make a greater impact?
You'll invest the majority of your time in three key areas:
- Upholding food safety and health and safety for all employees under your supervision by directing, mentoring, coaching, and inspiring
- Leading by example to promote strong performance, teamwork, commitment, continuous improvement, and a positive team environment
- Maintaining strong communication with all areas of the business to meet customer needs in a safe and timely manner
Specifically, you will:
- Actively supervise employees within the logistics department by building employee schedules, assigning duties, and ensuring health and safety and food safety protocols are maintained;
- Support customer order processes;
- Support freezer maximization and utilization;
- Maintain accurate inventory levels with regard to frozen capacity, inventory of bulk, case product, and pallets;
- Assign inventory cycle counts and organizes year-end inventory process;
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with peers, contribute to and promote a positive work environment through effective team relations;
- Participates in continual learning activities;
- Ensure compliance with established HACCP, Food Safety, and GMP protocols;
- Organize department activities in sync with the business strategy
You will report to the Logistics Manager and join a team that focuses on continual improvement and operational excellence.
Your profile
You will bring the following to the business:
- Post-secondary experience in a related discipline;
- One to three years of supervisory experience preferably in the food-based sector;
- Current knowledge of GMPs, HACCP regulations, and procedures, and Quality Systems;
- Ability to work shift work and some weekends;
- Ability to develop best practices that improve plant efficiencies and effectiveness
Your profile:
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills;
- Proven experience with Word, Excel, and Google tools;
- Critical thinking skills;
- Positive attitude, responsive, action and results-orientated;
