Jr Buyer / CMMS Planner | Woodstock | Heavy Equipment Manufacturing

 
We are seeking a Jr Buyer / CMMS Planner to buy goods and services necessary for our business operations. As part of a cross-functional team, the successful candidate should be familiar with what is out there, what it costs, and how it can benefit the company. 
 
Day Shift: 5 x 8 hour shifts; Monday to Friday

Responsibilities may include:  
  • Procuring maintenance supply 
  • Comparison of vendor quotes 
  • Sourcing alternative vendors/suppliers 
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance supplies records and counts for multiple facilities 
  • Ensure accurate inventory consumptions within CMMS work orders for multiple plant locations 
  • Utilize CMMS reporting system to track and improve on inventory expense 
  • Complete periodic cycle counts and update in the CMMS 
  • Continue with implementation and data entry in CMMS 
  • Track inventory received and stock in assigned locations 
  • Create and or enhance storage locations at multiple plants 
  • Physically set up racking cabinets and custom storage locations 
  • Coordinate and track inventory sent for repair
Skills and Experience:  
 
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures     
  • Pleasant demeanor with good organizational and decision-making skills    
  • Education or equivalent experience in activities related to manufacturing, supply chain management, production planning and/or scheduling    
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions     
  • Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices     
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and MRP systems   
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, WordPerfect and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills     
  • A strong analytical mindset     
  • Outstanding organizational skills     
  • Able to carefully analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different vendors and contract terms, and be able to choose the best option so products come in at the scheduled time and under the proposed budget     
  • Willing to travel to multiple facilities when required
