What would a typical day be like?

Diverse – this opportunity is designed to give a Mechanical Design Co op a wide range of exposure to all aspects of our engineering team. Automation & Robotics Associates are included in project teams and get to see the direct impact of their work. As a Mechanical Design Co op, you will:

• Contribute to 1-5 projects daily.
• Support the electrical and mechanical design teams.
• Contribute to PLC and HMI program development.
• Assist with hands-on assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of custom automation equipment.
• Work closely with your project team to find solutions to achieve targeted functional outcomes within defined budgets and timelines.

Given the client-focused nature of the work, employees may be required to work over weekends or outside of standard business hours as needed

What qualifies you for this opportunity?

• Enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program, seeking a 12 to 16-month pre-grad work term.
• Eagerness to learn while working with a team to develop custom industrial robotic automation systems.
• Willingness to learn through a variety of tasks, challenges, and projects while supporting your team.
• Talented team player capable of working efficiently with a multi-disciplinary team.

• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; Mechanical Design Co op’s at Convergix should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
• Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds
