Process Engineer

Position Summary  

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the design of various pharmaceutical processes, projects, and procedures. As a key member of the site engineering and team, this individual is expected to participate in the continual product and process improvement efforts, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products and services possible in keeping with Catalent’s quality policy.  

 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing the strategy for our new pharmaceutical site and shape the future of our operations in North America. 

 

Regular working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch. 

 

The Role 

  • Design of various systems/processes as assigned, including required calculations, component selection and sizing, as well as the determination of materials and methods of construction to satisfy the operating objectives, expected environment and process conditions, serviceability, etc. 

  • Identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations through root cause analysis of plant downtime. 

  • Target improvement to increase Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE). 

  • Embed a robust improvement philosophy within the site engineering team, acting as a source of CI and TPM best practice for Engineering processes. 

  • Training on diagnosis, causes of, and repair equipment breakdowns. Focusing on a “First Time Fix” methodology. 

  • Raise Change Controls, CAPEX, and other relevant documentation to an auditable standard as required and complete in a timely manner. 

  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. 

  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

The Candidate 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering 

  • Minimum 2 years' work experience 

  • Ideally working towards professional qualification within their field 

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. 

  • Use of manual dexterity is required. 

  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. 

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
