Production Team Leader - Industrial

The Production Team Lead - Industrial is responsible for driving execution of daily production schedules to meet customer quality and delivery expectations.  This role works collaboratively with all members of the focused factory team to meet Key Performance Indicator targets around safety, quality, delivery, inventory and production.  In this exempt (salaried) role, you will manage a team of around 15, including some strong lead hands.

Accountabilities

• Allocate and manage production resources to achieve daily production plan 

• Conduct performance management process for all direct reports

• Coach, mentor and support direct report development plans

• Ensure cell setup and production readiness on a daily basis and throughout the day         

• Manage the flow of material into, within and out of the cell, ensuring continuous flow (right amount of materials, at right time, in right place)   

• Supervise material put away and de-trashing of cell           

• Backfill for assembly resource as required

• Lead trainer for production processes (including EH&S)    

• First point of contact for issues raised in production cells and value stream:         

  • Parts shortage
  • Quality issues
  • Manufacturing input issues (dwg, BOM)
  • Issues with production equipment, tools or supporting equipment

Requirements

• 3-5 years of people management experience in an electro-mechanical production environment

• Technology diploma or equivalent experience

• Ability to hold team members accountable for production rates and behaviors 

• Practitioner of continuous improvement methodologies like six sigma and lean manufacturing (flow, 5S, standard work, daily management, etc.

• Baan or other ERP system knowledge is an asset
