Position Summary

The CMM Technician is responsible to operate the coordinate measuring machines and to carry out a wide variety of duties in respect to maintaining the accuracy of our “master” measuring tools with a positive cooperative attitude supporting both the department and departmental leadership. CMM Technicians are expected to facilitate solutions and possess excellent listening, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.

Recommended Qualifications

? Post-secondary education or equivalent.
? Must have experience running CMM programs or equivalent Coordinate Machine programming experience.
? Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent.
? Exposure to Quality Assurance systems and requirements an asset.

Duties & Responsibilities

? Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and
Formet’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
? Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.
? Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
? Take initiative to follow through on completion of tasks/projects.
? Demonstrate a sense of urgency to achieve results.
? Operate CMMs to ensure accuracy for correlations and other activities.
? Operate overhead cranes.
? Ensure all gauges and fixtures are maintained and certified.
? Perform capability / reliability studies.
? Support all special projects (i.e. SMR’s, Prototype, Repair).
? Provide support to Perceptron Technicians to resolve dimensional and gauge related issues.
? Provide support to all departments to resolve dimensional related issues.
? Perform other duties as designated.

Shift: Rotating every 2 weeks between days, afternoons and nights

?
