Industrial Mechanic Millwright Apprentice

As a member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will under the guidance of a journeyman Industrial Mechanic Millwright, support the efficient operation of systems and equipment in the manufacturing environment. Provide support, repairs and maintenance to manufacturing.

Responsibilities Include:

Equipment Set Up, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance

• Complete equipment setup is complete on the manufacturing line as required.
• Perform all troubleshooting and regularly maintenance on the manufacturing line.
• Proactively review and recommend improvements in safety, assembly, and maintenance related issues.
• Understand and build fixtures, workstations and various systems as required

Support

• Support Operator training in machine operation and minor defect clearing.
• Maintain a clean and safe maintenance shop at all times.

Health & Safety

• Comply with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in Certificate in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or a related field of study.
• 1 year of experience in maintenance role in a manufacturing environment
• 5 years practical experience operating production equipment.
• Ability to co-ordinate the completion of multiple tasks in an efficient manner with minimal supervision
• Excellent organization, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Basic math skills
• Computer literate with:
• Basic experience in MS Word
• Basic experience in MS Excel
• Works well independently with little supervision.
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs)
• Ability to perform physical labour involved.
• Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights.
• Ability to operate lathe, mills, and other maintenance shop Equipment
