Process Improvement Engineer
Description
IntroductionThis position reports to the Director of Operations. The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement across Motif’s organization with a focus on improving efficiency, capacity, and equipment utilization. The successful candidate will take ownership over prioritizing target improvement areas, pushing improvement projects through the finish line and ensuring all projects follow appropriate documentation protocol.

Motif operates as a business-to-business enterprise, offering toll processing and contract manufacturing services to Licensed Producers (LP's) and 3rd Party Brands. Position Overview:
· Manage the design and execution of projects that enable improved process efficiency or increased process scale
· Conceptualization of innovative solutions, designing/building equipment and accessories where they are not commercially available
· Collection and analysis of data required to assess bottlenecks in current processes and develop strategies to resolve
· Assistance with key information tracking for the purposes of: SR&ED reporting, KPI tracking/reporting, etc.
· Lead equipment commissioning and validation, as well as implementation of SOPs with the assistance of the department operations manager
· Providing engineering and troubleshooting support for equipment and processes
· Sourcing equipment and tools to support production
· Documentation; developing checklists, drafting work instructions, data verification, etc.
· Hands on duties including assisting with production activities and assembling equipment, as required
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· B. Eng in Chemical/Process Engineering required; other disciplines to be considered based on direct process improvement experience
· 5-10 years in manufacturing, oil & gas, laboratory, or pharmaceutical experience is required
· Experience with process optimization and project management required
· Demonstrated mechanical aptitude required
· Experience within Cannabis industry is considered an asset
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Leadership and coordination; must be able to communicate objectives and track progress on continuous improvement projects
· Positive attitude with strong communication skills
· Strong time management skills including ability to multitask and prioritize
· Shows initiative and ownership of work and willingness to learn
· Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
· Required to pass a criminal background check
