Position Summary

Nestlé Canada Ice Cream has an immediate opening for a Materials Planner, to join the Supply Chain team at our state-of-the-art ice cream factory, located in London, Ontario.  The Materials Planner is responsible for materials (raw ingredients and packaging) planning and ordering for the manufacturing of the different ice cream products.

A day in the life of a Material Planner...

•    Review production plan using MRP (SAP) and order ingredients and packaging accordingly
•    Create and monitor call-off purchase orders
•    Vendor Management:
-Manage VMI (vendor managed inventory) programs 
-Manage Vendor non-conformances through SMI (Intelex).  Includes claims management
-Manage Vendor site visits to review general business, performance, etc.
•    Ensure minimum orders and inbound freight loads are optimized.   
•    Manage Aging inventory to mitigate risk
•    Work closely with Marketing, Supply Planning and Vendor to manage onboarding of new materials & disposition of obsolete materials.   
•    Communicate material changes to all relevant factory departments
•    Work with Vendors, Procurement, other functional depts. on sourcing opportunities that will generate savings and/or Lean best practices.
•    Other duties as required
