Operations Technology Systems Service (OTSS)

We require an OTSS Team Member who will be responsible for:  

the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of Injection Molding Machines (IMM) and all other manufacturing equipment to support the production work schedule.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of the Injection Molding Machines, carry out preventive as well as break down maintenance as per instructions
  • Troubleshooting and rebuilding of the Metering Units and pumps
  • Troubleshooting and rebuilding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic auxiliary equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment
  • Electrical setup & troubleshooting, updates, programming, and calibration (sensors, cameras, drives, PLC programs)
  • Complete installation and commissioning of injection molding machines and other auxiliary equipment
  • Maintain clear documentation and records
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on machines as required
  • Follow Lock Out/ Tag Out procedures
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining the condition of parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of quality issues
  • Train new team members in the department
  • Maintain clean work bench, tools and other related areas
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of facility equipment as necessary
  • General fabrication and welding as required
  • Communicates effectively through all levels of the organization
  • Adhere to government regulations and guidelines for machinery repairs
     

Do you have?

  • College diploma in the electro-mechanical field
  • Industrial Millwright 433A License is required (or eligible for an Apprenticeship)
  • 3 - 5 years experience in machine repair and maintenance in a manufacturing environment with a mechanical background
  • Experience with injection molding units an asset
  • General electric and PLC knowledge
  • Understanding of health & safety procedures in a manufacturing environment

 

Successful candidate will also have:

  • Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and specifications
  • High degree of technical & mechanical aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education.
  • Be able to perform repairs (including minor electrical)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write, and understand basic English.
  • Basic MS Office skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required
