Hyrdrocarbon Post Processing Technician

Description
IntroductionThe Hydrocarbon Post Processing Technician is responsible for carrying out material handling and production of all hydrocarbon product lines downstream of extraction and any other operations as assigned at Motif. This role will perform day-to-day duties in compliance with SOPs and Health Canada Regulations under the guidance of the Extraction Operations Supervisor.
Position Overview:
- Safely operate and troubleshoot all equipment required for the hydrocarbon post processing operation including:
- Product process columns
- Pressurized vessels
- Mechanical equipment: vacuum pumps, heaters, chillers, etc.
- Safely handle hazardous materials (including butane, propane, ethanol and compressed gases) while adhering to safe chemical handling procedures
- Follow all SOPs including Safety, Security, Sanitation and Production SOPs
- Train and mentor other technicians on the proper operation of hydrocarbon post processing operations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements with the goal of meeting or exceeding departmental safety, quality, and production KPIs
- Track and report inventory of parts and materials to avoid stockout or quality events
- Maintain accurate batch records with excellent attention to detail
- Enter work orders into an ERP and investigate/resolve any work order discrepancies
- Perform sanitation activities as per GPP requirements
- Sample preparation for all required analytical testing
- Ensure 100% compliance with QA requirements during day-to-day activities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in a Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial specialties required.
- 1-2 years of direct experience in producing and handling of hydrocarbon cannabis products preferred.
- Mechanical inclination is an asset
- Qualitative analysis and critical thinking
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety while operating process equipment
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills
- Strong time management skills including ability to multitask and prioritize
- Shows initiative, ownership of work and willingness to learn
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Required to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to work various shift schedules including weekends as required
SCHEDULE
??“Half Continental” rotating shift schedule (Days ONLY): 4 days one week, 3 days the following week
? Sunday through to Saturday (7-day operation). Hours are 7:30am – 8:00pm (12.5 hours)
? Breaks are: three 30 min breaks to be broken up based on team needs and discussed with Supervisor/Manager
