Key Job Elements
- Lead all in-station repeat non-conformances with effective and measureable Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Lead all Production responsible Welding escapes with effective and measureable RNC investigations, RCCA
- Leading Special Projects for Weld and Weld Inspection Efficiency gains through weekly metric weld reviews
- Support and attend Quality Cornerstone meetings to help facilitate and drive feedback, communication and awareness to Weld and Weld Inspection
- Collaborate with MEL; Weld/Inspection Trainor’s and Weld Lab to prevent repeat non-conformances and help optimize welding processes
- Support Weld Production and Weld Audit during First Piece Inspection
- Work with Production and Inspection teams to review areas of opportunity to lower overall HPUs
- Responsible for metrological analysis and reporting
- Conduct first piece inspection, tooling fixture validation and gauge calibration
- Support Manufacturing and Customer Support to analyze and determine root cause of integration issues
- Locate fabrication components when tooling is unavailable
- Support Engineering, Design and Technology and Supplier Quality Engineering for technical design issue diagnosis and resolution
- Liaise with Engineering, Design and Technology and Research & Development for support of future designs and metrological capability installations
Required Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in Engineering Technology or Engineering Science
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in Weld and/or Quality
- Machining, welding, and assembly manufacturing or design experience
- Ability to read, interpret, select and apply geometric controls to drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer designation
- Completion of Welding Technologist / Technician course
- ASME Y14.5.2 – GDTP-Technologist or Senior certification
- ASME 14.43 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Principles for Gauges and Fixtures familiarity
- Knowledge of Faro equipment, Innovmetric Polyworks suite, CAM2, VeriSurf, Power Inspect, etc.
Work Environment
1) Nature of Supervision: Medium (Some Self-directed work as it pertains to Metrology back-up)
2) Work Interruptions and Distractions: Minimal to medium
3) Physical Environment: manufacturing/shop floor, some office

Physical Conditions and Hazards:
Production shop floor support employees are responsible for maintaining support for touch labour and as such may spend a significant time in the production environment. Production shop floor support employees may be exposed to loud noise, dust, weld fume, paint and extreme temperatures.
Production shop floor support employees may also assist the touch labour with the movement parts equipment as requested, this may include light lifting. In addition, Production shop floor support employees may be required to complete various administrative tasks depending on the job function
Computer based desk work is also required throughout the day.
Production shop floor support employees may be required to work shift work which may include rotation between day, afternoon, and night shifts. Additionally, overtime may be required on an as needed basis and may include weekend work.
Physical Demands Description:
Usual mobility demands required are standing, walking, sitting, and stair climbing to access upper offices and process work envelopes some stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and crouching may be required at times while assisting workers or accessing low placed items.
