McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Project Engineer to join our team. This position will be located in our London, ON location. 

 

 

The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

 

  • Developing technical proposals to meet customer needs using EEM (Early Equipment Management)
  • Delivering approved projects from proposals including detail technical scopes of work, corresponding estimates and schedules, submitting CAAP's for project funds, working with operations team on development of the business case and influence the approval process
  • Executing approved projects using standard project management techniques including technical design, specifications, managing vendors and contractors for construction for remodeling and equipment fabrication installation.
  • System commissioning and ramp up as well as the transition to operations/maintenance including documentation, training and post project reviews
  • Effective communication with all stakeholders across the organization.
  • Provide technical expertise for improvements and prevention of defects
  • Cost savings and energy reduction programs
  • Project budget management including estimate development, managing spending appropriately between capital and expense, cash flow projection and cash flow reporting
  • Troubleshooting expertise for current manufacturing needs

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of 5 + years engineering experience as a Project Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • BSc in relevant Engineering Degree (ME, ChemE, IE, EE)
  • Ability to demonstrate previously completed large projects at former place of employment
  • Understanding of project justification financial process (Return on Investment, Internal Rate of Return and Life Cycle Cost/Benefit Analysis) is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Engineering knowledge in CAD, PFD, P&ID, pneumatics, hydraulics and basic controls/PLC
  • Strong communication, leadership, decision making and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience in food processing, dry or liquid packaging, pharmaceutical or chemical process and PMP certification would be an asset
