The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting in the completion of a wide range of projects including municipal engineering, MTO engineering, railway engineering and other critical projects.

The Role

 

This role will assist in various aspects of LiDAR processing and data production, including:
 

  • Work with point cloud data collected by airborne, terrestrial, and mobile methods.
  • Extract 2D and 3D feature information and export to various outputs
  • Perform classification, feature extraction and mapping from processed LiDAR data
  • Combine conventional survey data with LiDAR data.
  • Ability to understand CAD Standards.
  • Meet data quality and production rate standards.
  • Understand the collection and processing of mapping imagery and LiDAR.
  • Process drone imagery to produce orthorectify mosaics into seamless maps.
  • Edit LiDAR point clouds and create digital terrain models.
  • LiDAR feature extraction
  • Perform QA/QC and ensure proper data management.
  • Assist Project Managers, and Remote Sensing Lead in all aspects of project planning and delivery.
  • Assist Project Managers in project pre-planning.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • Has a university degree or college diploma in Geomatics or a related discipline
  • Has 1-3 years of experience in a similar role involving LiDAR
  • Has previous LiDAR feature extraction experience
  • Experience required with MicroStation Connect, and OpenRoads and TopoDOT
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of Trimble Business Center (TBC)
  • Knowledge of LiDAR data and processing methods
  • Experience of DTM creation in CAD 3D environment
  • Experience with LiDAR feature extraction
  • Knowledge of industry accepted design/CAD standards for survey, mapping and engineering
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s license
