Project Manager
Description
- Perform Project Management role at BOS, representing BOS to the customer well and organizing successful project execution.
- Owns end to end process of the project after PO acceptance through to delivery
- Owns the relationship with the customer during that period of time (project) not sales
- Through the act of engagement and influence, ensure that the project is delivered on time, quality, and budget
- Responsible for effective commercial execution of projects through oversite of the project management group
Requirements
- Engage with the business and the customer just prior to deal Close to develop relationship and set up project plan for the new projects:
- Follow the BOS kickoff process lead by sales with ownership transfer to PM
- Create the project schedule for each job using the correct standard BOS template in MS Project illustrating BOS and Customer milestones
- Create the budget module within the BOS ERP with department input: line creation, budget finalization, and checklist creation
- Facilitate kick off meeting procedures
- Facilitate weekly (pre-assembly typically) to daily (build through to end of major commissioning activities) project whiteboards, with the following responsibilities:
- Ensure that each project lead is there or represented with risks needs and mitigation plans if needed
- Escalates shortfalls to timelines, budget or quality in real time to Sr Management
- Provide the BOS team will all customer information and provided items, including:
- When the project team requires customer information or parts, that is PM responsibility to get it in a timely manner
- Follow ECN process to provide Engineering Change Quotes when applicable
- Manage the customer product planning and tracking system and coordinate with all stakeholders
- Facilitate internal and customer design reviews, site reviews, customer visits, and any other commercial interactions
- Analyze projects to identify out of scope work or other out of scope customer requests and strategically address these with the Sales and Marketing manager
- Inform the customer of impending delays in a reasonable timeframe due to:
- Inform the customer of BOS technological miss - Facilitate the Development of contingency and/or recovery planning as needed to address timing risk mitigation or handling
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in engineering & 5-10 years automotive/manufacturing experience
- Computer Expertise: Microsoft Office, Epicor, Microsoft Project, Review level knowledge of Solidworks and Draftsight
Knowledge:
- Understanding of project flow and milestones
- Knowledge of machine building and processes including laser, assembly, welding, etc.
- Familiarity with equipment, machinery and components used in custom machine building
- General knowledge of system programming
- Understanding of the relationship between and integrator and customer
