Design Services Librarian - Data Transfer

Description

Position Description:

• Responsible for the transfer of CAD data to and from GDLS Teamcenter databases using Multi-Site functionality.
• Liaise with departmental Trade Compliance representatives to ensure CAD data transfers are conducted with the appropriate authorizations.
• Liaise with Supply Chain Management representatives to ensure the secure transfer of CAD data to and from GDLS-C.
• Conduct exports of parts and assemblies out of Teamcenter in various formats for transfer to external suppliers, customers and joint ventures in compliance with ITAR and CGD regulations.
• Encrypt outgoing CAD data.
• Conduct imports of 3D CAD models received from external suppliers into Teamcenter with or without assembly structure depending upon requirements.
• Convert 3D CAD models received from external suppliers in various formats into NX format
• May be required to create solid models, and associative assembly and detail drawings related to Engineering Change Requests with minimal supervision utilizing NX CAD software. 

 Position Requirements: Required Qualifications

• Mechanical design experience utilizing CAD tools in a related industry.
• Modeling, Drafting and Assemblies experience with NX CAD software.
• Post-secondary diploma in mechanical technology.
• Proficiency with common desktop office applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Windows XP networked environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical drawing practices including ASME Y14 series standards.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5M-2009).
• Knowledge of Teamcenter Product Data Management applications.
• Familiarity with neutral file formats such as: IGES, STEP, DXF, JT.
