Welder

Givens Engineering is a custom manufacturer of cranes, manipulators, and other material-handling machinery located on Veterans Parkway in London. We're looking for a motivated person to weld (and sometimes assemble) custom equipment.

We have a large shop employing 50 in London and a smaller operation employing 9 in Toledo. We employ welders, machinists, assemblers, electricians, designers, engineers and a sales staff to create custom machinery.

• You will be responsible for welding machine parts and structures
• Most of what you weld would be "standard" parts, which are produced in batches of 10 to 50, approximately
• You would become approved by the Canadian Welding Bureau
• You may also assemble equipment, including fasteners and pneumatics
• Ability to understand drawings would be essential

• Ability to read and understand measurements, as well as use various measuring tools would be essential
• Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds would be helpful
• When a project is complete, you may install the equipment at the customer's factory, which includes driving a pickup truck and trailer

• It would be essential to be willing to work overtime and weekends, from time to time

Shop hours are straight days Monday to Friday 7-3:30pm with the probability of frequent weekend work or OT work.
