The Opportunity
18 month contract
 
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Analyst is responsible for analysis of Quality data and product with the goal of minimizing Quality costs and improving customer satisfaction. The Quality Analyst is expected to create as well as consolidate sources of data related to product failure and customer dissatisfaction, analyzing the data, and driving improvements through subsequent implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
 
In this role you will focus on:
  • Analysis, Trending, and Reporting of Quality/Warranty Costs
    • Use of current analysis tools such as Power BI as well as development of other suitable analysis tools to extract data from a variety of systems that provide details of costs, failures, and causes
    • Regular reporting and dashboard creation to track sources of quality costs from returns, warranty parts shipments, and warranty service
  • Overall responsibility for defective returns analysis and dispositions
    • Working with other factory and distribution personnel, ensuring appropriate analysis of returned product for fault
    • Ensuring proper disposition and recording of results within the SAP ERP system
    • Escalating those defects that may identify a potential safety issue or other significant performance issue; completing a thorough analysis of the product and involving other internal personnel, suppliers, or testing parties as may be needed to determine and remove causes of product failure.
    • Reporting of issues to Quality Manager that may pose a safety risk, significant performance, or Quality cost
  • Corrective/Preventive Actions
    • Determination, initiation, and resolution of product design or manufacturing quality problems within and outside Glen Dimplex Americas, including initiation and tracking of internal and external analysis of cause determination and effective monitoring of solution implementation
  • Customer Escalations
    • Assisting in analysis and determination of solutions for specific customer product concerns/complaints.
  • Development/Maintenance of documented processes within the Quality Department and broader organization
  • Other duties as may be required
 
What You Need
  • Experience with the design and analysis of electrical and mechanical consumer products
  • Strong data analysis capabilities including use of a variety of software, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Power BI
  • Strong ability to effectively summarize data including identification of trends and patterns
  • Experience driving root cause analysis and preventive action implementation
  • A self starter who can work independently and facilitating actions from many internal and external agents
  • A degree or diploma in electrical, electronic, mechanical engineering, technology, or related fields of study is an asset
  • This position may involve some limited travel
