The Opportunity


JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
Responsible for leading shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures. Acts as a Lean thinker and has the training provided to support the Lean culture as well as understanding and demonstrated proficiency in utilizing the Lean tools used in our facility.
In this role you will:
  • Ensure effective employee relations including, but not limited to, providing employee coaching and development, and resolving employee issues through positive problem resolution.
  • Aligns quality, productivity, cost, and safety to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Supervises departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
  • Maintains manufacturing work flow daily by reviewing jobs, purchase orders, leading team meetings, troubleshooting and resolving daily manufacturing issues, and creates routing for shop orders.
  • Assists in the development, execution, and evaluation of standard work instructions for jobs; creates appropriate reports. Responsible for auditing SW and assisting with inventory control (cycle count programs) as part of count teams.
  • Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process modifications and may recommend product or service modifications.
  • Leads department kick off meetings; reviews prior day’s performance, discusses plan for the day and makes announcements.
  • Promotes teamwork to perform daily functions within safety guidelines and established work procedures.
  • May provide training to new Production Associates on department processes

What You Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in a production environment.
  • Forklift Certification (or ability to be certified) is required.
  • Lean Certification preferred.
