  • Maintain safe work practices
  • Conduct training for both Operators and Maintainers on GDLS-C chassis.     
  • Travel to military locations in Canada and Globally.
  • Instructs and operates military vehicles and equipment in a training role.
  • Ensure proper documentation and updates are completed for site reports and Training Development Packages.
  • Liaise and communicate with internal and external organizations on training related matters
  • Attend meetings with internal and external Customers as required
  • Maintain compliance with ISO procedures, GDLS policies, regulatory requirements (ITAR) and Safety policies.
  • When required be the lead trainer, provide team leadership, instruct, monitor and advise trainers on site.    
      Required Qualifications:      
  • University degree or College diploma or Equivalent Military Certification.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years previous instructional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in the operation and maintenance of armored vehicles for Land Combat Arms.    
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of turreted vehicle systems.
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills.    
  • Bilingual French/English written and oral
  • Demonstrated strength in Microsoft Office applications.    
  • Willing to travel throughout the world and work in extreme environmental conditions.
  • Experience working with teams and/or customers.    
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.    
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.     
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Canadian Firearms Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).    
  • Capable of meeting physical demands of the job and Anthropometric Size Requirements for confined space.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to qualify for DZ license.

        
Preferred Qualifications:      
  • Experienced in the operation and maintenance of various weapons i.e. 25/30mmm cannon, 105 mm Assault Gun, Anti-Tank.
  • Military (Land) DP3 Qualified with LAV driving/driving instructor.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Military School or Unit as an Instructor or Standards Cell member     
  • Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) experience
  • Qualification as a CF military instructor, TRADOC, or equivalent with experience as an Instructor in a CF or equivalent school or unit.     
       Physical Conditions and Hazards:            The conditions in which an individual or staff works, including but not limited to such things as amenities, physical environment, stress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger, temperature, location.            
  • Nature of Supervision: Medium (Some Self-directed work) 
  • Work Interruptions and Distractions: Minimal to medium
  • Physical Environment: manufacturing/shop floor, some office
  • Hazards: Heavy machinery including but not limited to fork trucks and cranes, noise, dust, paint, temperature fluctuations, hand tools
      Physical Demands Description:            Typical postures may include standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crouching, bending, lying down and reaching at working heights ranging from below floor level to overhead. Tasks required on the interior of the vehicle will require working in a vertical space of 105 to 135 cm and may involve sitting, crawling, crouching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling and/or lying down to access some areas, as some tasks require working in areas with space constraints. The worker may also be required to lay on a creeper to complete work under the vehicle. Vertical clearance under the vehicle is approximately 65 cm.            Equipment Utilized:            Equipment a Sustainment shop floor employee is required to use      LAV’S      Crane      Hand Tools      Fork Truck       Computer      Phone            Medical Surveillance            May include: Inoculations, Respiratory Fit, Audiometric Testing, Designated Substance Surveillance, Vision, Anthropometrical Size Restrictions depending on task            Personal Protective Equipment:      Applicable when interacting with shop floor (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection. extraction coveralls)
