Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION: STAFF ACCOUNTANT

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in our accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate analysis and reporting of production costs, and variances, and assisting in financial budgeting and forecasting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support leadership in ERP implementation and maintenance.
• Conduct comprehensive testing across all ERP functional areas before going live.
• Establish and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
• Analyze costs and prepare detailed reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams for accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Manage inventory valuations and oversee cost-related inventory control measures.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting, focusing on cost analysis.
• Recommend cost-effective solutions aligned with sustainable practices.
• Conduct product audits to ensure accurate product cost representation.
• Perform balance sheet analysis and manage deferred/prepaid schedules.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Support decision-making through financial analysis.
• Participate in Month-End Close Process, including balance sheet account reconciliation and variance analysis.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives in Operations by adhering to best practices and validating cost savings on CI projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, working towards a CPA Designation with a minimum of one year of full-cycle accounting experience.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or technology sectors.
• Proficiency with ERP Software, preferably Oracle.
• Understanding cost and inventory systems is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical skills for data analysis.
• Experience in trial balance and financial statement preparation.

Pay: $42,122.92-$65,958.15 per year
