Position Description:

We are currently looking for a Tax Manager to join the General Dynamics Tax Team!

 

As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a full range of services for all tax matters within General Dynamic’s group of Canadian companies.  Located in London, Ontario, the Tax Manager will report to the General Dynamics Combat Segment Tax Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to allow non-tax business leaders to understand the risks, opportunities and strategies involved in tax matters
  • Building internal and external relationships
  • Closely work with Combat and CHQ tax team to provide innovative tax planning strategies in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Manage corporate tax compliance in all jurisdictions, including income taxes and commodity taxes
  • Oversee the computation of the annual Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit claim
  • Manage the quarterly and annual income tax provision process
  • Responsible for tax cash forecasting
  • Oversee all international tax matters including transfer pricing
  • Research and documentation of technical issues that arise on an on-going basis.
  • Keep current on all tax legislation and administrative changes and effectively communicate any impact to the organization
  • Implement process/system improvements
  • Train staff, review and evaluate their work

 

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

  • CPA designation
  • Completion of In-Depth Tax Course or Masters of Tax
  • Five+ years’ experience in Canadian tax
  • Able to develop strong working relationships with all levels of individuals and work effectively in a team environment
  • Detail oriented & ability to multi-task
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Supervisory experience (2 years plus)
