Position Summary:

Reporting to the Floor Supervisor, the Summer Student will handle raw meat and orient meat products on conveyor belts. This role will be responsible for cutting/removing specific meat sections, stamping product, packing meat product into carton, applying labels onto product cartons, trimming meat to Company specifications, cleaning floor using squeegee/brush to pile up meat debris and completing any other duties as required.

General Responsibilities:

• Contributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety and health and safety standards
• Works on the production line to process meat products
• Checks and weighs materials and/or product
• Transfer, seal, manually labels and pack product into bags, cartons or other containers
• Removes finished goods packages from conveyer and place on pallets
• Moves and lifts skids, tanks and combos
• Completing all required documentation
• Sanitation duties may be required
• Other general plant duties as assigned based on business needs

*Physical Demands:

• Standing (Constant): 8 hours
• Lifting (frequent): Cases: up to 25kg
• Bending (occasional)

Qualifications:

• Ability to meet all Physical Demands (including using tools such as scissors and knives)
• Ability to communicate verbally and written
• Ability to acclimatize to changing environmental conditions (heat, cool, etc.)
