Accountable for planning, operational execution, and managing continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the efficient and effective flow of goods and materials, the Director, Supply Chain will be responsible for managing the supply chain function for multiple Jones Healthcare Group business units (Canadian Pharmacy, Medication Adherence and Cartons & Labels). This position will report to the Vice President, Supply Chain.
In the first 6 – 9 months, your initial focus will be:
  • Warehouse & Inventory Control: 
    • Provide oversight to all activities involved in the receipt, warehousing, control, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods for the different departments. 
    • Recommend and oversee warehouse design/layout changes, improvement activities, and system enhancements to improve efficiencies, minimize risk, and achieve full warehouse optimization.
  • Shipping, Freight & Logistics:
    • Monitor and evaluate current logistics practices, and work with cross-functional stakeholders to further analyze freight costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings, while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
    • Identify and evaluate potential carriers and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with key logistics partners. 
  • Motivate, coach, and inspire team members to perform at their highest level, providing development opportunities to further enhance their skill sets and knowledge.
  • Monitor and analyze key service, quality, productivity, and cost metrics; use insights to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the company’s vendors and external partners to ensure the highest standards possible for price, quality, and speed. 
Then, your role will also expand to include:
  •  Purchasing & Procurement:
    • Maintain awareness of market and category trends to provide leadership insight on sourcing strategies and negotiation tactics.
    • Coordinate across all business functions, including Sales, Scheduling, and Production, to ensure supply partners meet the ongoing business requirements.
    • Ensure the procurement strategy ensures supply resilience and mitigates risk. 
    • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal price, quality, and lead time. 
If you’ve got:

·Bachelor’s degree (in a business, supply chain, engineering or operations-related area).
·CSCP certification or other industry-leading designation is a strong asset.
·5 - 7 years of supply chain management and manufacturing operational experience.
·Distribution management experience including inventory management, warehouse operations, order fulfillment
      and logistics.
·
Strong track record of managing and mentoring teams and developing best practices.
·
A proactive approach to risk management.
