SHIPPING AND RECEIVING ASSOCIATE

We are currently seeking a highly-skilled Shipping and Receiving Associate who will ensure the accurate and efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory management and positive vendor relationship development. This role must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of all materials.  We are looking for safe and experienced forklift operators. This role is located in London, Ontario and reports to the Operations Supervisor. 

SHIFT STRUCTURE

This role is required to work the shift structure of a 2-3-2, 12 hour day shift rotation with an anticipated start date in June, 2022. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER

• Promote a Health and Safety, Food Safety and GMP Culture by adhering to company standards at all times. 

• Operate forklifts, powered walkies, and other industrial equipment for loading, unloading and moving products. 

• Ensure a safe process of preparing docks, loading and unloading trailers and moving product within the facility.

• Create and adhere to daily shipment schedules. 

• Verify shipping documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 

• Precisely collect and maintain records for reporting and tracking, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 

• Identify, investigate and report equipment deviations and malfunctions to the Leadership team. 

• Investigate instances of missing documents, shipments and deliveries, reporting to the Leadership team. 

• Manage inventory and FIFO requirements, working closely with Operations team to manage material requirements. 

• Set a positive example by complying at all times with Health and Safety and Quality and Food Safety policies. 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• A minimum of 3 years of related material handling experience; a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset. 

• Fully licensed in forklifts, reach truck, and/or related power lift equipment, and working knowledge of WMS. 

• Working knowledge of waybills, BOL’s and international shipment requirements. 

• Working knowledge of safe chemical handling, HACCP and GMP procedures, and allergens. 

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team, in a fast paced environment; collaboration skills, as well as the ability to influence others. 

• Solid time management capabilities with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute deliverables.

• Willing and able to follow specific instructions and perform repetitive tasks with minimal supervision. 

• You possess basic mathematical, verbal and written communication and reading skills, and possess rudimentary computer/tablet skills required.
