Position Summary
We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join the Production team at our state-of-the-art ice cream factory, located in London, Ontario. The Production Supervisor is accountable for the overall safe, secure, efficient and cost-effective management of all production functions. The Production Supervisor must effectively lead a team to deliver superior results. This position will work on various shifts as needed, as well as weekend work.
A day in the life of a Production Supervisor
• Ensure the timely deployment of trained and competent associates as per the agreed production plan (proper training Inc. equipment, safety procedures, hygiene) while enforcing strict compliance to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by all personnel within the shift.
• Coach employees to fulfil and exceed the requirements of the job through NCE approach
• Ensure that the working areas are kept clean and are maintained in working order including all installations in accordance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Check and enforce personnel hygiene & safety e.g. protective clothing (uniform), shoe change & hand wash
• Ensure continuous line Controls and immediate corrective action to assure prescribed quality and to ensure compliance with manufacturing instructions
• Ensure ongoing smooth operations of factory through effective employee and industrial relations management
• Ensure timely launch of new products to the Market as per agreed with the business unit
• Ensure adequate maintenance of the installations in coordination with quality, engineering & administration
• Effectively manage operational reviews, ensure exchange of information (cascade/escalate issues) for alignment with the objectives in the short term and WOR, MOR to achieve performance improvements. Motivate, guide, support and coach the resources to achieve objectives and to act in accordance with NCE guidelines.
What will make you successful?
You will also have:
• Proved matured knowledge in food manufacturing or degree/Diploma in Food Sciences, Engineering or related field
• Relevant work experience either during or after studies
• Demonstration of leadership ability by leading a project within a factory environment
• Demonstration of Everyday Coaching skills to ensure involvement of the workforce
• Demonstrated capability to lead a group of people
• Exposure to implementing continuous improvement and TPM experience
• Experience in change management
