DIRECTOR, REGULATORY AFFAIRS

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detailed Director, Regulatory Affairs that will be instrumental in providing strategic and operational regulatory leadership to Aspire. You will serve as the lead regulatory officer and contribute significantly to overall product and business strategy.  You will play a key role influencing regulatory authorities through regular contacts to improve regulatory outcomes and expeditious approvals as required. 

This role will hold a hybrid work structure (remote and on-site) and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. 

SHIFT STRUCTURE

This role will primarily work Monday to Friday, day shift, however work outside of standard working hours is required as needed, in order to effectively support the location's 24/7 operation. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER

  • Promote a Health and Safety, Food Safety and GMP Culture by adhering to company standards at all times. 

  • Accountable for leading the development and implementation of our global regulatory strategy.

  • Act as primary liaison with industry stakeholder groups and government officials and actively develop relationships and partnerships as required.  

  • Preparing or overseeing submissions for initial applications, change notifications, and amendments for AAFCO, CFIA, FDA, USDA, FSMA, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Update, monitor, and manage all regulatory requirements pertaining to products

  • Create regulatory-related tools, educational/training materials, and remain current on all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices, communicating changes to key stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Evaluate applicable laws and regulations to determine the impact on company activities

  • Lead regulatory activities related to product registrations in international markets.

  • Participate as a key stakeholder within R&D and Quality teams by being a subject matter expert on all Fertilizer/soil supplements and pet and human food regulatory fields

  • Collaborate with Quality team on all audits and lead as necessary

  • Implement and report on standards and OKR deliverables and contribute to lessons learned, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.

  • Other related duties and required or assigned.

     

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 5 or more years experience working in senior regulatory roles within the food and/or agriculture industry.

  • Commercial experience with new/novel products in North America and overseas strongly preferred

  • Degree/Diploma in a science-related field

  • Strong strategic thinker and influencer

  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence others.
