Director of Sales - Automation & Robotics

 

As JMP continues to execute on its 30-year BHAG, driving growth in the Automation and Robotics Division is a major priority. The Director of Sales, Automation and Robotics will play the key role in advancing this priority. Working closely with Business Development Managers and Operations throughout North America, he/she will grow Automation & Robotics Services sales within targeted accounts and focused industry segments including Food and Beverage and Consumer Packaged Goods amongst others. The Director will coordinate efforts with respect to marketing, sales, solution development, and account management.

What Would a Typical Day Look Like?

  • Manage a team of Business Development Managers, tasked with growing revenue in existing and target accounts across North America.
  • Develop business relationships with targeted customers and influencers in the Automation & Robotics space
  • Teach, lead, and refine the JMP sales process
  • Develop and cultivate a three-year business growth plan including a one-year operational sales target plan.
  • Act as a spokesperson and advocate for JMP within the automation and robotics industry, promote JMP, and represent the company’s vision and values.
  • Attract, retain, and grow the Business Development Managers that comprise the Automation & Robotics Sales Team.
  • Lead cross-division sales initiatives with other Division Directors, expanding JMP’s overall market share and customer walletshare
  • As part of Sales Leadership Team and Planning Group, provide advice, guidance and feedback to the VP Sales and to the Executive Team as needed.

 

What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?

  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing growth-oriented sales teams.
  • 10+ years of experience in driving services and engineering centric sales.
  • A deep work history in Automation & Robotics in the Food and Beverage or CPG vertical markets.
  • An established network of business contacts and customers within the Automation & Robotics industry.
  • Experience in developing, negotiating, and implementing complex sales opportunities that result in large corporate initiatives.
  • Track record of establishing trusted advisor relationships with key customers.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic direction.
  • Familiar with the types of technology platforms used by JMP and its prospect customers (Rockwell, ABB, Fanuc, etc.)
  • Motivated and passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm.
  • An ability to travel within US and Canada.
