Key Job Elements: 

• Projects planning, implementation and control
• Liaison with facilities services, shop floor supervisors and bargaining unit employees for project work and technical assistance when required
• Research machinery and equipment to meet facility and budget requirements
• Identify requirements for new tech. and safety devices to improve current and proposed systems
• Develop detailed specifications and design for bid purposes on minor machinery and equipment
• Work closely with Manufacturing and SCM departments
• Manage installation and startup of all minor new machinery and equipment purchases
• Monitor, organize, track, prioritize and execute Maximo Work Orders
• On-site point of contact for department admins, custodial staff and on-site contractors
• Monitors and adheres to all Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy standards and requirements

Required Qualifications:

• University degree or college diploma
• Minimum 5-7years of relevant experience
• Ability to communicate well
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Capable of starting and completing tasks with limited guidance
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

 Work Environment

• Nature of Supervision: Medium (Some Self-directed work)
• Work Interruptions and Distractions: Minimal to medium
• Physical Environment: manufacturing/shop floor, some office

Physical Conditions and Hazards:

Production shop floor support employees are responsible for maintaining support for touch labour and as such may spend a significant time in the production environment.  Production shop floor support employees may be exposed to loud noise, dust, weld fume, paint and extreme temperatures. 

Production shop floor support employees may also assist the touch labour with the movement parts equipment as requested, this may include light lifting.  In addition, Production/Sustainment shop floor support employees may be required to complete various administrative tasks depending on the job function

Computer based desk work is also required throughout the day.

Production shop floor support employees may be required to work shift work which may include rotation between day, afternoon, and night shifts. Additionally, overtime may be required on an as needed basis and may include weekend work.

Physical Demands Description:

This section objectively captures and describes the physical demands that are required to perform a particular job or role.

Usual mobility demands required are standing, walking, sitting, and stair climbing to access upper offices and process work envelopes some stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and crouching may be required at times while assisting workers or accessing low placed items.
