Wright St Die Cast Team Leader

 

Primary Purpose of Position

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the Die Cast Cleaning Team Leader will work on cleaning die-casting safely through working with other team members and fellow employees from other functional areas. The incumbent will also provide guidance to the Die Cast Cleaning operator on their daily tasks and act as a working leader of the team.

 

Major Responsibilities of Position

  • Operating and monitoring: Ensuring machine housekeeping meets or exceeds established standards daily. Communicating with Superintendent and supervisor as required. Documentation of items repaired, fix and items completed on daily bases. Fill in for die cast operator when needed, cleaning areas are not just strictly cast. Will work with other groups if necessary
  • Safety: Working in a safe, efficient and skillful manner, promoting high quality workmanship attending to plant condition and working on housekeeping on 8 hour cleans. Adhere to company lockout policy as required.
  • CI Improvements: Submit kaizens and participate in 5S+1 programs and training, work with Ci fabricator in implementing ideas and improvements
  • Other responsibilities as required, including special projects as they arise.

Educational and Certification Background

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Essential

Experience in labour roles in a safety-oriented environment or similar manufacturing or die cast work experience.

Personal Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes):

 

  • Knowledge of die cast machine functions, process checks, troubleshooting, fault resets, foundry, quality checks, safety procedures, and melt quality are assets
  • Must have proven mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
  • Be able to analyze records and logs of DCM history in Plex.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, computer, and teamwork skills
  • Be familiar with the plant Health & Safety rules, and the OH&S Act and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of company policies, and procedures.
  • Teamwork.
