McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Product Manager to join our Marketing team. This position can be located at either our London, ON or Mississauga, ON location.

  

The Product Manager will direct and coordinate strategic and tactical marketing activities for multiple brands within McCormick’s Branded Food Service Spices, Herbs & Seasonings portfolio.  This role will have responsibility for the profitability, promotion, pricing, packaging, distribution, research and new product plans, and will work closely with Sales, Customer Marketing, Commercialization, Insights, Finance, Product Development, Digital/Social Media Teams and Supply Chain/Operations to execute growth-driving plans.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage product line P&Ls.  Manage product life-cycle including product assortment optimization, new product business case development and commercial strategy and implementation.
  • Builds portfolio brand strategy, leveraging key business and market data and operator insights, to define brand roles and positioning within the marketplace. 
  • Establish pricing strategy (for the overall brand and across channels), develop and maintain pricing and promotion strategies and implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develops trade promotion strategies, and support execution.
  • Builds marketing plans to drive growth on supported brands.  Provides strategic and tactical coordination with internal cross-functional teams including Marketing Excellence (Commercialization, Graphics/Packaging, Digital/Social Media) and Customer Marketing Team, as well as external partners (including agencies and vendors) to execute marketing plans. Builds tactics and strategies to execute digital and social media program with external agency.
  • Conducts ad hoc analysis and annual business reviews, including thorough business, competitive and market analysis, leveraging data and information from a wide variety of sources.  Utilizes analysis to identify key business opportunities, establish business priorities and ultimately develop effective business-building plans. 
  • Recommends and delivers business presentations to brokers, customers or senior leadership.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business
  • Minimum of 3 years brand planning, building and running brand business, marketing communication including digital, innovation, finance, promotional activities 
  • Demonstrated relevant skills and results within the foodservice or CPG space, or closely related field 
  • Strong analytical thinking needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations, leveraging in-depth analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Strong business acumen, including how key drivers impact business, how to deliver against key performance and financial indicators
  • Expertise in syndicated databases and market research, with ability to successfully translate insights into action
  • Strong project leadership experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects that have significant impact to company’s profitability and supports annual and long-term goals and objectives
  • Ability to lead internal and external teams to ensure collaboration, alignment and efficient resource management to successfully achieve objectives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including ability to present and communicate with senior management and customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Food industry experience 
  • Branded Foodservice or CPG experience
