Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator (Contract)

WHO WE ARE

Vari-Form Manufacturing Inc. is a leader in advanced tube hydroforming technology for the development and manufacture of products used by the automotive industry. Vari-Form Inc. has three facilities in Strathroy, Ontario.

THE POSITION:

1. Review, update and support company policies and procedures related to environmental health and safety legislation, regulations, requirements and industry best practices.
2. Participate as a Management Rep on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
3. Oversee the completion of workplace inspection, participate in safety meetings and committee activities.
4. Liaison between all departments and management health and safety projects, directives and initiatives created through company safety system.
5. Deliver training programs to promote workplace health and safety, new employee orientation, safety talks, equipment lock out, etc.
6. Participate and complete investigation process, corrective actions and reporting.
7. Support environmental processes and projects for continual improvement of the ISO 14001 management system.
8. Respond to environmental, waste management and environmental emergency inquiries and tasks.
9. Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system and health and safety

WHAT YOU OFFER

1. University degree or college diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of three years of experience in environmental health and safety role in a manufacturing environment
3. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and facilitation skills
4. Ability to self-manage workload and work independently.
5. Good computer skills
