Fabrication Assembler
Purpose
The Fabrication Assembler works as part of the Fabrication Team and is responsible for the assembly of a variety of metal enclosures and other metal components for OES Scoreboards. The Fabrication Assembler is also responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings to assess the materials needed for production. The Fabrication Assembler is required to use a variety of light and heavy machinery to make their necessary cuts and to assemble the fabricated components into complete units.
Summary of Major Accountabilities
· Fabricate and assemble metal enclosures according to relevant production procedures and work instructions
· Follow job lists and download required files from production database
· Operate the plasma cutter and press brake and all other related machines
· Install fabricated components into the final product(s)
· Work closely with the Fabrication Lead to complete assigned tasks
· Prepare fully assembled enclosure(s) for packing
· Conduct final quality (QC) inspection of all enclosures according to related procedures
· Adopt and practice Lean Manufacturing Concepts
· Contribute to the maintenance of a safe, clean and organized shop
· Notify lead of material issues and shortages
· Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety work requirements
· Any other relevant duties as assigned by the direct Supervisor and/or Scoreboards Manufacturing Manager
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
· Diploma in a related discipline is an asset
· Background in Production environment is preferred
· Strong knowledge of working with sheet metal and related manufacturing equipment
· Basic knowledge of computer skills and Microsoft Office
· Ability to read production documentation and instructions
· Forklift driving license is an asset
Technical Skills
· Operate Press Brake
· Operate Plasma Cutter
· Usage of hand tools
· Interpret Blueprints and Engineering drawings
· Microsoft Suite
· Forklift Operating
Cognitive and Physical Demands
· Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools
Moderate physical effort which may include (but is not limited to) the following:
Sitting for periods of 2 hours or longer
Standing for periods of 3 hours or longer
Ongoing hand-eye coordination
· Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs.
· Highly repetitive tasks
· Ability to do physical labor and other active physical tasks
· Ability to work flexible shift(s) and overtime work as required
· Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
· Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects; use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time
· Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
· Use of personal protective equipment is required
· May be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals, high temperatures and high levels of noise
· Hazards associated with the industry
· Ability to maintain regular attendance
