Overall Responsibility:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining the press schedule, ensuring demand is translated into executable AM/PM schedule drops. This role requires effective communication with customers and the verification of all EDI and manual customer orders for accuracy.
Accountabilities:
- Build/maintain MPS (sequences, run sizes, coil usage)
- Creates Master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet Customer Requirements, Plant Efficiency and Budgeted Inventory Levels.
- Analyzes production levels, capacity and manpower requirements for logistic fleet. Communicates with management and Supervision on all changes required.
- Develops and maintains Schedule Attainment with department supervisors to determine status of Master schedules.
- Creates and monitors all launch ramp plans and processes to ensure communication of all current requirements and roadblocks.
- Meets with Planning team to review status of all launch and Engineering Change parts and processes. Ensure all materials and processes are flowing through CMS.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Supply Capacity load requirements and any deviations to the assigned production department.
- Ensure customer demands are satisfied while avoiding premium shipments
- Assists all inventory preparation and count teams in the annual Physical Inventory
- Communicate bottlenecks to the Materials Manager and/or the appropriate Production Supervisor.
- Meet budgetary spending targets for the departmental cost center
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the department
- Maintain communication with other departments including Quality Control, Accounting, Human Resources and IT as required
- Assist the Engineering Department with maintaining accurate prototype material inventory and planning incoming prototype material and production with Materials Supervisor.
- Provide training to co-workers and help maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Best Practices and Job Safe Practices to ensure the transfer of knowledge to others.
- Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
- Ensure QMS conforms to the requirements identified in IATF 16949 and AMTB Process Map.
- Fulfill all responsibilities as identified in the Employee Handbook.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel)
- Experience working with AS400 systems or other relevant MRP system.
- Advanced knowledge of inventory management skills and practices is required.
- Experience in logistics and transportation services
- Knowledge in MSE systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High degree of integrity
- Proven ability to achieve results
- Detail oriented
- Proactive in learning and development activities
- Proven ability to work with and develop people
