Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving production equipment breakdowns, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, rebuilding failed components, and supporting improvement projects and Engineering initiatives.
The role operates within a plant environment and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

The Maintenance Technician performs repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving production equipment breakdowns, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, rebuilding failed components, and supporting improvement projects and Engineering initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve production equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment.
- Rebuild failed components such as pumps and cylinders.
- Perform maintenance on facilities.
- Support improvement projects and other Engineering initiatives.
- Demonstrate maturity, good judgment, reliability, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adhere to all applicable OH&S Act, Regulations, ISO, IATF, and customer-specific requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate of Qualification or Certificate of Apprenticeship (Industrial Electrician and/or Millwright).
- Background as a licensed skilled trade person within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with the OH&S Act and Regulations.
- Knowledge of applicable government codes, rules, and regulations, with ability to stay current on changes.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience rebuilding components such as pumps and cylinders.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial environment.
- Ability to work in a plant environment with potential for limited local or international travel for training or divisional support.
- Awareness and adherence to ISO, IATF, and customer-specific requirements.
- Strong judgment, reliability, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work safely and methodically in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate of Qualification or Certificate of Apprenticeship (Industrial Electrician or Millwright — either designation).
- 5 (Five) or more years of experience in a similar role in an industrial environment.
- Prior exposure to die casting, machining, or assembly manufacturing environments.
