Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, Planning, and Inventory, the Senior Buyer is responsible for managing key supplier relationships and procurement of electrical components and panels, ensuring timely project & aftermarket parts delivery, budget control, and contributing to margin improvements. Focusing on meeting OTD, at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, conformity to specifications, reliability of source and urgency of need. Follow procurement best practice and procedures in a dynamic, product & project-based, custom engineering environment.

This position is part of the Procurement, Planning, and Inventory department located in London, Ontario and will be hybrid.

In this role you will:

• Analyze MRP outputs, execute rescheduling action messages, processing POs, RFQs and coordinates all procurement activities to meet demand requirements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information for all components: lead-time, pricing, forecasting and inventory stocking levels, country of origin.
• Participate in cross functional sourcing projects and supplier agreements.
• Collaborate with internal customers (engineering, quality, project engineering, product & Finance)
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies GR/IR with AP
• Identify cost saving and process improvement opportunities through ongoing review of spend categories with Sourcing and Finance
• Participate in implementation of strategic supplier development program, inducing and developing global sourcing, ensuring procurement timeliness, and identifying supply chain risks.
• Measure and ensure supplier performance against key performance indicators such as on time delivery, cost, and quality performance targets.
• Experience working with product lifecycle management, document control and enterprise quality management systems.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Minimum 3-5 Years of purchasing experience.
• Post-secondary education in related field preferred
• Background in electronics/electrical technology an asset
• SCMP or CSCP certification
• Knowledge Inventory management
