Recruitment Coordinator - Contract
Maple Leaf Foods is embarking on one of the most exciting journeys in its history through the build and startup of a world-class, leading edge manufacturing facility producing premium, value added fresh poultry products. The new 640,000 square foot facility will call London, ON home and will employ over 1,600 employees as we ramp up operations over the next few years.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
The Recruitment Coordinator leads activities that support the operations in all areas of hourly recruitment including delivery of the recruitment plan, sourcing, career and job fairs, screening, interviewing, pre-employment checks, job offers, orientation and reporting key performance indicators such as turnover rate, voluntary vs involuntary terminations, etc.As Recruitment Coordinator, you will:
- Promote positive employee engagement and retention.
- Execute all aspects of recruiting for hourly employees including posting roles and managing the applicant tracking systems, screening and interviewing candidates, and coordinate job offers.
- Execute the recruitment action plan and recommend enhancements to ensure the labour needs of the plant are met
- Build and maintain good working relationships with external parties and targeted communities to support hourly recruitment
- Manage and execute all hourly recruitment activities and processes to budget and ensure accurate reporting
- Administer HR processes relating to the hire and orientation of new hourly employees including setting up personal record files, forms completion and distribution thereof to payroll and union office
- Research, coordinate and administer targeted job ad placement to increase candidate pool
- Organize, participate and deliver job and career fairs for hourly recruitment
- Develop, track, report and maintain detailed accurate records relating to hourly recruitment for internal and external reporting
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- Working towards or completion of a post-secondary education program, diploma or degree in Human Resources Management
- Recruitment and/ or HR-related experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment will be an advantage
- Excellent computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and experience working with applicant tracking systems.
- Strong team player with problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Ability to get things done with minimal supervision
- Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn and enjoys challenging oneself
