The Opportunity

 

We are recruiting a Facility Operations Leader to coordinate and facilitate daily activities pertaining to the maintenance, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, machinery, and facilities as required. Beyond managing our current facilities, the idea candidate will also support the C.O.O. in sourcing, designing, and executing large capital projects to support the growth and evolution of the company. The ideal candidate will lead both our Operations Maintenance Team and Operation Support Team and support the day-to-day operations at each of our two London, ON facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate daily activities of Maintenance Team Members
  • Follow-up on status of Work Orders and PMs, including daily Maintenance paperwork, communicating issues as they arise
  • Interface directly with equipment contractors and facility contractors to execute repair and installation activities
  • Source new equipment and investigate solutions/technology to enhance our operations as directed by the C.O.O.
  • Support Continuous Improvement/Preventative Maintenance initiatives
  • Evaluate Maintenance systems, tools, and equipment and implement improvements as necessary
  • Meet with external contractors/vendors as needed to conduct inspections, parts evaluations, etc.
  • Develop/Modify standard troubleshooting guides for common maintenance issues
  • Train existing and new Team Members as needed
  • Attend Production Operations Meetings and update Team Members on daily plant activities and capital projects as directed by the C.O.O.
  • Provide continuous support to Team Members, while acting and carrying on duties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Support Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs
  • Demonstrate and actively support safety and PPE standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Lead by example, including performing daily repairs and PM’s

 

Ideal Candidate:

 

  • Manufacturing Technology Diploma, Electrical and Mechanical experience is necessary
  • Strong technical background with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Possess leadership qualities with an ability to direct and motivate employees
  • Self-starter with a strong organizational behaviour
  • Previous experience in project management
  • Experience leading and maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong communication skills including both written and verbal
  • Sound judgment in decision making and establishing priorities
  • Proactive and goal-oriented to make improvements in systems and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
