Job Description

We are hiring a Senior IT Business Analyst!

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, the Senior IT Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and understanding business requirements of stakeholders and working together with those stakeholders to analyze and identify opportunities for improvement.  This position will work closely with the project management, functional stakeholders, and IT to ensure the requirements are properly translated into the development effort. Throughout the project lifecycle, the Senior Business Analyst will engage in assisting in the intake process as well as testing, training, and implementation.

What will you do

  • Meet/Collaborate with functional business leads to understand current process and identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
  • Guide stakeholders on creating effective approaches to resolve issues.
  • Guide users through the IT development intake process by documenting issues, requirements gathering, scoping, and assessing impact.
  • Document report requirements, screen changes and process changes
  • Coordinate with the development team and stakeholder to resolve any exceptions.
  • Assist stakeholders in developing and executing test plans.
  • Assist the stakeholder in developing and implementation strategy.
  • Coordinate Post go-live support.
  • Assist stakeholders in training when required.
  • Liaise with the internal control function to ensure controls integrity.
  • Liaise with other functional areas to identify inter-dependencies.
  • Conduct review meetings with functional stakeholders to rebalance priorities, provide project updates and intake on any new issues.
  • Liaise with the functional leaders as part of the annual strategic planning.
  • Act as a backup for the Senior Development Manager
  • Coordinates and oversees project work with other analysts and third-party developers.

What will you Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Admin, Computer Science, Science or Data Analytics) and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
  • At least 3 - 5 years hands on experience in a business analyst position in a mid-sized organization. (preferably a manufacturing environment)
  • JD Edwards and/or similar ERP experience is required.
  • IT Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of various SDLC and process methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
  • Solid understanding of relational database structures and strong SQL query writing capabilities.
  • Ability to write in Visual Basic is an asset.
  • Technical Development Skills
  • Strong desire to innovate and advance internal technologies and processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Continuous improvement approach following best practice analytic principles.
