Key Job Elements:

  • Manage technical, schedule and cost requirements against the execution plan and to applicable procedures and standards
  • Manage and approve ED&T software deliverables and documentation
  • Manage vehicle and TDP software configuration management and Software Integration Lab software configurations
  • Plan software requirements and software drops, ensuring software development is accomplished in a systems integrated manner
  • Collaborate with Program Management and act as primary GDLS-C ED&T Customer facing representative related to software.
  • Act as technical lead for coordinating GDLS-C ED&T response to pending new program software requirements and regulations.
  • Manage definition of software architectures based on analyzed requirements, which includes evaluation, selection and integration of all necessary technical components
  • Lead B&P activities related to software projects and programs related to proposal generation, requirements definition, software strategy solutions, and negotiation activities.
  • Ability to bridge across multiple disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical and Software) to make appropriate system-level design trade-offs
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering, Software Requirements & Test, and Software & Cybersecurity teams supporting specific program requirements, including synchronizing plans to support prototypes, RRUs or other test assets build and test
  • Coordinate software verification and regression testing activities and manage resolution of issues/bugs
  • Lead Software CCB meetings authorizing change scope and timing
  • Manage subcontracted software development and qualification
  • Support deployment of software to production environment, including collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering on software load procedures/instructions, software loading utilities and hardware requirements
  • Establish and monitor software project management metrics
  • Coordinate development of software design review materials to support internal checkpoint reviews as well as Customer milestones
  • Conduct regular briefings with the Customer as well as internal leadership to status project execution

 

Required Qualifications:

  • University Degree in technical domain such as Engineering or Science
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional project management
  • Proficiency in application of Systems Engineering Management
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Highly organized and capable to coordinate numerous simultaneous tasks across internal and external stakeholders/customers
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment, including the ability to give presentations and influence internal and external customers.
  • High level of self-accountability and motivation to work through ambiguous situations to find solutions.
  • Must be able to work in Canada and to obtain CGP (Controlled Goods Program) clearance and be eligible for access to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled data/hardware. The incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain Secret Level clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in professional software development
  • Experience working the full life cycle of a project from bidding and requirements definition, through design, build, qualification and support of fielded products.
  • Prior software project management experience
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle management and Agile/SCRUM software practices
  • Experience with industry and military standards relevant to military vehicle design
  • Experience with DEF STAN 00-82
  • P. Eng or eligibility for P. Eng status
