The Forge Engineering Technician provides daily operational support and technical direction within the forging department. Working closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams, the role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of forging and pressing equipment across two shifts. This position is key to driving continuous improvement in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), standardizing procedures, and maintaining a safe, high-performance work environment. The Technician plays a hands-on role in troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and supporting the implementation of best practices across the forge.

About You

  • Navigate heat, confined space, and noisy environments common to forging

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Technical training in a related field preferred (e.g. Mechanical or Industrial focus an asset)
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in press and/or forging industry, including hands-on experience with equipment operation and troubleshooting

Knowledge

  • Forging and pressing processes and equipment functionality
  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Preventative maintenance planning and execution
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act and related workplace safety regulations
  • Vendor management and coordination practices

Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Project coordination and task planning
  • Data analysis and reporting using MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to standardize and document technical processes
