Summary of Job Function:
- Complete mechanical design tasks on assigned vehicle system(s)
- Take ownership for design development while ensuring compliance to scope, budget, schedule, design requirements, and departmental procedures
- Collaborate with colleagues and customers in the development optimized design solutions
- Specific areas of design:
- Automotive powertrain systems - suspension, axles, steering, brakes, drivelines
- Vehicle dynamic effects
- Participate in component and vehicle level test programs
- Participate in the generation of Research and Development opportunities, as well as other operational planning activities

Required Experience/Qualifications:
- University Degree, College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or experience equivalence gained through working in the field of Mechanical Design
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive or mechanical design experience
- Excellent oral and written communication ability
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Proficient in the use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others)
- Possess/be able to acquire a valid passport, with the ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
- Proficient in the use of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages (Siemens NX - an asset)
- Possess or the ability to obtain a professional designation (P. Eng, CET, etc.)
- Experience with military organizations and/or military ground vehicles
