The Junior Mechanical Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for providing technical support for production and after-sales in addition to supporting aircraft development and certification programs as required. Additional activities may include the development of designs, drawings, test plans, test reports and review of technical publications related to aircraft systems such as flight controls, landing gear, ventilation, and occupant safety.

Responsibilities:

> Support the mechanical systems engineering specialist (Senior Engineer) in all matters
> Perform ongoing production support through the assessment of production difficulties including investigation and disposition of non-conformances
> Provide ongoing technical support for Sales and After-Sales departments
> Support Continuing Airworthiness activities including service bulletins and service difficulty investigations
> Act as an engineering liaison to support other engineering groups and departments
> Recommend changes to the aircraft design and/or manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, performance, and the overall customer experience
> Submit and/or review engineering change requests and perform minor type design changes as required
> Assist with the development of certification plans for Major type design changes
> Generate test plans and other substantiating documents as necessary
> Design and prepare flight test change orders and support installation of test equipment
> Coordinate and perform testing (ground and flight), analysis, and/or generate design reviews to substantiate compliance to regulations
> Generate compliance reports to demonstrate compliance to the regulations
> Support the certification process for type design changes as required
> Participate in research and development activities as necessary

Skills & Experience:

> Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
> Experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes
> Proficiency in MS Office products and collaboration tools
> Experience with CAD tools, CATIA preferred
> Familiar with Part 23 certification regulations
> Pilot license is considered an asset
> Excellent time management skills
> Capable of independent decision making
> Works well within a team environment
> Able to prioritize tasks based on company needs
