Buckland is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the BI Manager, the Business Intelligence Developer will be working primarily in the Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSRS, SSMS and Power BI. Working closely with Business Leaders, the Business Analysis team and other IT personnel, the Business Intelligence Developer will work within the data warehouse and reporting environments to improve both internal and external data availability and knowledge. In addition, experience in any of the following business areas are a definite asset; customs brokerage, importing, exporting, logistics, supply chain systems.

You will be responsible for…

• Planning, designing, developing, and assisting team members on the development and enhancement of business intelligence data, reporting, and associated technologies.
• Work with Line of Business partners, Business Analysts, and other IT personnel on pre-existing and new solutions.
• Design, improve and extend existing warehouse systems and data gathering processes to increase overall performance and user productivity.
• Provide detailed feedback to team members when evaluating a problem, new feature, or when completing development work.
• Assist Development Team documenting existing solutions and new solutions as required.
• Contribute to a positive team environment to create, deliver and enhance solutions for our organization and our customers.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

What we need from you

• Computer Science, MIS, or Information Technology diploma or equivalent education and work experience.
• 2-5 years in business intelligence focused roles.
• Extensive Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (2016), SSIS & SSRS
• Experience working with Power BI in small to medium enterprise environments.
• Experience with any of the following an asset: GIT Source Control, SQL Performance Testing and Benchmarking, SQL server configurations, maintenance, and in-depth performance investigations.
• Ability to work with other staff members to perform quality testing and analysis.
• Experience with analytics languages (R, Python) and techniques considered an asset.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in Spanish considered an asset.
