About the Role

Trojan Technologies is looking for an intermediate-level Mechanical Prototyping Specialist who performs a variety of complex technical tasks, focused on performance verification and validation of UVC Emitters under the general supervision of a senior engineer.

This role is a part of the Innovation and Technology department and will be onsite in London, ON with a Hybrid structure.

In this role you will:

  • Design, prototype, and validate test setups for evaluating UVC emitter technologies.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and throughput of test fixtures and laboratory facilities.
  • Support senior engineers with research, design, experimental setup, and product development.
  • Develop and write test specifications, standard operating procedures, and test reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of UVC emitters against established standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing.
  • Analyze test data and share conclusions and recommendations with the relevant stakeholders.

Are you qualified?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/mechatronics engineering.
  • 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in conceptualizing, designing, and building prototypes and experimental setups.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Optical measurement and design.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and macros for numerical simulation (e. g. MATLAB, Python).
  • Mechanical fixturing.
  • Experience with electrical drawings.
  • Experience with handling of small electronics.
  • Experience with electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe practices.
  • Experience with database design.
  • LabVIEW proficiency.
