Role Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Department Leader or designate, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for planning, management and execution of recruiting and communications activities in support of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.  The incumbent will be responsible for many aspects of the Employee Experience at Presstran including, but not limited to, recruiting and on-boarding the best available candidates to our team,  building relationships with internal and external business partners, and providing communications materials, advise, tools and tactics to enable leadership to effectively motivate and engage employees to promote a positive work culture. The role carries a significant amount of program administration, monitoring, reporting and communications material.  This role leads all social committee and company social events for the plant within budgets. The incumbent will back up Training and Development Coordinator when required. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supports facility recruitment needs both internally and Externally and ensures the process is followed in a timely and effective manner (requisitions, postings internal/external, Interviews – virual and in-person, interview questions  candidate review, scheduling, reference checks, regret letters, follow-up, etc.)
  2. Conducts thorough interviews in a professional and confident manner.
  3. Accountable for promoting programs, services and all available communication tools and technologies helping to foster Magna’s Fair Enterprise Culture within the division.
  4. Responsible for creating and executing communication plans and tactics aligned with the goals and objectives of Presstran Industries.   This will include consulting with leadership, development of plans, creating content and measuring effectiveness. 
  5. Back up the Training & Development Coordinator as required. 
  6. Coordinates company events - Employee Appreciation BBQ's, Children's Christmas Party, Employee Golf Tournament etc.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Post secondary- diploma/degree in Human Resources or related field is required
  2. 2 - 3 years practical relevant experience preferable in both recruiting and communications (preferably in manufacturing and/or automotive environments), in communication and human resources programs management
  3. Demonstrated verbal, written, listening and organizational skills at an above average level
  4. Demonstrated ability to speak/train/facilitate small and large groups of people for training or meetings
  5. Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, shifts, etc.)
  6. Proficient in the following Microsoft Office programs (Teams, Publisher, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to provide own administrative support
  7. Proficient in communication and social media platforms
  8. Demonstrated attention to detail
